A problem that seems to stem from many scientific areas is the funding associated with research. Getting grants from the government can provide these finances, but could ultimately reduce activity since the money is readily available. On the other hand being privatized provides incentive to produce research, but creates a financially driven company. Which one is the most efficient, but ethically appropriate method of funding scientific discovery? Is there a better alternative to funding scientific research? Or is a mixture of the two a great method to enhance scientific research? Please respond with your ideas on the subject and build upon others.
