Space exploration is something that is universally interesting to cultures. After landing a human on the moon, Mars seemed like the next logical approach, but N.A.S.A. has only sent robots to Mars to collect data. Robots do not need the necessities of life, such as food, water, and shelter. Robots also do not get harmed by the radical space environment. However, there are some things that robots cannot do that humans can, such as making ‘on action’ decisions or taking samples that robots could not reach. The interest to send humans is going to take technological innovation and major discussion in order to accomplish and can put many lives at risk. Should robots continue to be sent to Mars to prevent the risk associated with a human? Is the cost worth the reward? How is a human possibly going to survive in such a climate? Please respond with your ideas on the subject and build upon others.

Humans have sent lots of robots to Mars. They care currently working on a human mission. The humans will have to pack everything on board, as nothing can be grown/gathered.

What is your thought on sending (if we had one) an Artificially Intelligent robot with the same capabilities as a human. Would you rather send the organic or metallic up?

Unfortunately, in the foreseeable future, no robot will be as adaptable to chaos and chance as a human. If we had instantaneous communications to Mars, robots could be sent controlled by humans, but unfortunately the 20 minute time lag means that remote-control cannot react fast enough.
