I have no problem with homosexual people at all, in fact I don't even really have an issue with trans people, so long as they remain binary (none of this gender fluid or whatever). However, I do not believe it is the right of the state to inflict a certain social position. Two examples being gay marriage and hate speech laws relating to LGBT people. I do not believe the government has any business in peoples marriage, whether heterosexual or homosexual. Also, I don't believe it is the right of the government to enforce hate speech laws against homosexuals or anyone for that matter - I personally consider it an infringement of freedom of speech.
Much like many have already said above, they can do what they want, they deserve equal treatment like anyone else, but they can't be provided special treatment. At the end of the day, their sexual orientation or change in gender (so long as it is binary imo) are irrelevant.

Though I'm a Christian, I honestly don't think homosexuality is wrong, and though I'm not sure if I buy into the idea of transgenderism, I can go along with male to female or female to male as long as a person picks something that exists.

I completely agree with the forced part. And religion shouldn't force people to conform to their beliefs, but try and convince people using the spirit and if the person disagrees not to be anything, but kind to the person even if they don't accept the belief. Depression and suicidal thoughts is something that no one should have to go through. However, I do believe that repressing those desires is possible without those negative effects. I believe that they could find someone out there that they feel attraction to even if they are the opposite sex. Though, like I've said before, even if they choose to be in a relationship I don't condone it, but NO ONE should be unkind to them just for the sole factor that they are part of the LGBTQ community. Ellen has done amazing things for people and she is part of the community. There are some things that I don't agree with in the media (you commented on this as well) how it has caused negative consequences more than helping. Such as, if someone is part of the LGBTQ community and is harassing someone religious and they comment back; the person is automatically labeled to be discriminatory and wrong. Of course this goes the other way too, but in the society now it is more common with that example. This doesn't mean I am saying that the other side does no harm they do their fair deal, but I believe a culture change towards being kinder people is necessary to solve that certain issue. You are correct that there should be a culture shift to being a kinder people in order to solve this issue. If everyone was kind and not prejudiced then most issues in this world would be solved. This was actually a revelation I had on an LSD trip back in October. There is a problem with power, since people are inherently driven against each other's goals to achieve their own goals, and there cannot be a perfect system to prevent damage from the power struggle because power is the cause of suffering, the free will that gives purpose to life, and ultimately what is used to try and solve the problems created by the power struggle. This means trying to exert an exact control is both immoral and impossible. And a lot of people try to solve these issues through compartmentalization, censorship, and hatred, all of which are forms of disconnection, which tears apart progress and the fabric of civil society. Thus I think the answer to societal problems is connection, which in an emotional form is love, and that love should be the cornerstone for human problem solving.

I personally believe that people of the LGBTQ+ Community should be left alone, should not have to deal with the amount of scrutiny as they do. I look forward to a future where people will be able to be themselves, without fear of judgement, harassment, or hatred. Perhaps this is a bit idealized, and unrealistic. But what can I say? I'm a dreamer. I cling to this hope to get me through the days where I have panic attacks from the lingering belief that my parents would disown me if I came out. To get me through the days where I wish I could be "normal" and not have to deal with all of this stress, on top of the usual stresses of life. I don't think anyone should have to deal with something this, and I have it better than most. This isn't something that should require debates about its "place in society", yet here we are. We don't debate heterosexuality and its place in society, so why should we debate this?

I agree with you that people shouldn't be morally policing LGBT people on their LGBTness and that this shouldn't need to be an issue, however there's a reciprocal issue of people trying to introduce legislation to enforce certain behaviors towards LGBT people, such as hate speech laws, laws about transgendered bathrooms in private businesses, trying to force certain people to perform or be involved in gay weddings they may disagree with, pronoun legislation forcing people to use certain pronouns, and when people introduce controlling legislation such as this I believe a discussion over this is necessary.

I am truly sorry that you have to deal with suffering. However, if it is not discussed future generations may be in danger of ignorance and misunderstanding.
